We had the pleasure of organizing a series of computing and robotics activities at the SIAPS (Science, ICT, Arts, P.E. and STEAM) Carnival at Sekolah Rendah Katok ‘B’.
Members of the School of Digital Science (SDS) and RoboLab conducted a variety of hands-on activities, introducing young students to topics ranging from computer hardware fundamentals to hand gesture-based interactive games to augmented reality (AR) Gulingtangan and robot navigation. Through these engaging experiences, students had the opportunity to appreciate the possibilities of the technologies that underpin modern computing, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Our interns from Politeknik Brunei (PB) were of great help. They handled most of the preparation.
It was a rewarding experience to interact with the students and witness their enthusiasm, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. We hope these activities have inspired young minds to further explore the exciting world of computer science and sparked a lasting interest in AI and robotics.
