Nazrul participated in the 20th International Computer Vision Summer School (ICVSS), held in Sicily from 5–11 July. ICVSS is a highly selective and prestigious program, with an acceptance rate of approximately 30%, admitting only 200 participants from more than 600 applicants worldwide. The school brings together leading researchers and experts from world-renowned institutions, including MIT, Stanford, Meta, Google, and NVIDIA.
This year’s theme, “Computer Vision for Spatial and Physical Intelligence,” closely aligns with Nazrul’s PhD research, which focuses on biomimetic sonar for spatial intelligence – specifically, developing novel frameworks for 3D spatial modeling from sparse acoustic data inspired by the echolocation capabilities of animals.
Nazrul’s participation in ICVSS was fully supported by the School of Digital Science (SDS). We sincerely thank the leadership at SDS for its continual support and commitment to fostering research excellence and providing opportunities for our researchers to engage with the global research community.
